Mulholland. The Spine of the Santa Monica Mountains. Stretching over 50 miles from the Pacific Coast Highway (on the left/west) to the Hollywood Bowl (on the right/east). This curvaceous, absolute unit of a road built in the 1920's "to take Angelenos from the city to the ocean" and still does exactly that 100 years later.

A roughly 8 mile section of Mulholland, known as "Dirt Mulholland" (marked in orange above the orange LA) was never paved and remains closed to cars, but accessible by bike, foot or piggyback, if that's your thing. 

Mulholland is also the gateway to so many of our epic canyon roads: Coldwater Canyon, Stunt Road, Kanan, Yerba Buena, and more.
